The Young Leader Scholarship recognizes emerging leaders — recent high school graduates, current college students, and young professionals — who are actively serving in their local church and sense God's calling to develop as a leader. This scholarship is awarded on the basis of expressed passion, faithful service, and the personal significance of this opportunity. Partial or full awards are available based on a holistic review.

This scholarship requires a demonstrated record of active church service over the past 12 months or more. List your involvement below — be specific about your role, the ministry area, how long you served, and approximately how many hours per week.

Please respond to each of the three prompts below. Write from your heart — we're not looking for perfect answers, we're looking for you. Aim for 200–300 words per response.

Essay 1 — Calling & Spiritual Integrity
Describe your relationship with Jesus and the moment or season when you first sensed God calling you to lead or serve others. How do you actively cultivate that relationship today, and how does it shape the way you live and lead?

200–300 words

Essay 2 — Character & Resilience
Tell us about a time you faced a significant challenge, setback, or failure — in your faith, your leadership, or your life. What did it form in you? What did you learn about yourself and about God through that experience?

200–300 words

Essay 3 — Vision & Personal Significance
What is the bold, God-given vision you carry for your life and your sphere of influence? What would this scholarship make possible for you personally, and why is this season at The Leadership Institute at Celebration significant to your calling?

200–300 words

Provide the name and contact information of one pastor, mentor, or leader who can speak to your faith, character, and leadership potential. This person should know you well and be able to speak to why you are deserving of this scholarship. A recommendation form will be emailed to them automatically. This person may be the same as your pastoral reference on the General Application.

You are welcome to submit a short personal video (60–90 seconds) sharing your heart for ministry and why this scholarship matters to you. This is entirely optional, but it can give the scholarship committee a fuller picture of who you are. Upload to YouTube or Google Drive (unlisted) and paste the link below.
